Flea Market

In May 2023, the Capitol View Park Citizens Association held its first-ever community flea market. 

Resident Bruce Cohen graciously hosted the event in his yard, and the Red Line Ramblers put on a fantastic performance. Bruce and several other neighbors donated the proceeds from items sold — and the band donated its performance tips — to WAMU, the local National Public Radio affiliate, due to news that the station was experiencing a budget shortfall that prompted the layoff of more than 100 staff.  

Neighbors sold a variety of goods and donated a truckload of remaining items to charity.
