Turkey trot 

Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and trotters for making the CVPCA's 8th Annual Turkey Trot a success! Together we raised $2,000 for A Wider Circle.

In the under 18 category, Calvin Awad (age 7) ran the 5K in 24:25 and Zaid Neggaz (age 12) ran in  24:30!

Turkey Trot Overview

The CVPCA's annual Turkey Trot is one of our community's most popular events, offering serious (and not so serious) runners with a 5K route through our beautiful neighborhood on Thanksgiving morning.  Refreshments, music, and prizes to the top finishers and costumes await runners and their supporters at the finish line.  

More than just a fun run, the Turkey Trot is also a major fundraiser.  Since 2016, approximately $10,000 has been raised for the benefit of A Wider Circle, a Silver Spring-based community organization dedicated to eliminating poverty.

2019 Turkey Trot funds raised:  $1,250

2020 Turkey Trot funds raised (virtually due to COVID-19):  $1,250

2023 Turkey Trot funds raised: $2,000 (exact total being finalized)
